The club was formed as a result of a group who met at an evening class
in 1981 to learn badminton.
At the end of the course, six of them wished to take their new found sport a bit more seriously and decided that the way ahead was to form their own club.
By 1984 with increased membership, the club moved to the then newly opened two court sports hall at Hilden Grange Preparatory School, in Dry Hill Park Road, Tonbridge. It was at this stage that we became known as “Hilden Grange Badminton Club”, the name we still play under.
The Club has over the years grown from the original “gang of six” (three are still members) to a thriving friendly yet competitive badminton club. With a further increase in membership over the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons the club has now moved to a new four court sports hall at Weald of Kent Grammar School, Tudeley Lane, Tonbridge.
With e play in the Tunbridge Wells Badminton League.
